Amrita Pritam

THIS IS WHAT SHE HAS TO SAY ABOUT HER FREE SOUL
Today I have effaced number from my homeAnd I have rubbed off also the name of my street alsoAnd I have wiped off the directions indicating the roadsBut If you necessarily have to search meThen you have to knock the doors in every street in every city of every countryAnd wherever you get the clue of a free soulYou must know that it is my home

AND HER CAREFREE ATTITUDE TOWARDS LIFE AND POETRY, U FIND IN FOLLOWING LINES

There was a grief I smokedin silence, like a cigarette
only a few poems fellout of the ash I flicked from it

A free soul is best. Two excellent lines of poetry.
